Summer Reading 2026

Olive Hill & Grayson branch both every Wednesday and Friday from 11am-1pm.
Each week we will have a new story, activity, prizes, and tons of fun. Each child will get a free school lunch at 12, but must be there at the beginning for a head count.

Virtually Partnered with KCU

Carter County Public Library & KCU are working together to provide summer reading for Carter County! Check out our virtual option of Unearth a Story @ Your Library! We will be exploring Appalachian folktales, monsters, and ghost stories from the region online. Come & join us!

Adult Summer Reading
June 10 - July 31
This year the Summer Reading Program will be self led. We have a few books that have been selected to get you started, but you are free to read whatever. We will have some free prizes that can be picked up at the Library that go with the theme of the program while supplies last. We hope that this encourages you to find the fun in reading and maybe step out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Happy Reading!
